Perhaps you are familiar with the expression: "If you're going to talk the talk you'd better be prepared to walk the walk"?
In the simpliest terms Dharma is "walking the walk."
How that manifests in your life is dependent upon the note you have to sing. Each realized being is a unique note -- a part of a grand symphony. The note you contribute is uniquely yours. That comes to you through the process of evolution and unfoldment. No one should venture to suggest your note to you.And you shouldn't put anyone in that position.
However, there are so many aspects of this symphony which are not unique. In fact many of these elements have been essentially the same since the first shamanic caveman. We say essentially the same because even though the essense may stay the same the available technology doesn't.
We have available to us in this time period technology which has not existed before today.
Consider the situation of the first metal workers. With the invention of metals bells and singing bowls became available. Was there prayer before metal made the singing bowl possible? Of course there was. But oh, how cool it was when metal made the singing bowl and bells and nifty dorjes and other stuff available. If would be stone cold stupid to not use bells because they didn't exist at the time of the first shaman. Being that much of a purist is plain silly. And it is equally silly to not use computers. A plow is a tool. If you hit yourself in the foot with a plow it doesn't do much to enhance or extend your situation -- other than as a lump. If you use a plow as a tool, recognizing its limitations and its strengths it can make much possible which was previously beyond one's capacity.
What do you call a device which has OmMaNiPadMeHum enscribed upon its surface and is spun around and around? A prayer wheel. What do you call a flat disk which has OmMaNiPadMeHum encrypted upon its surface in 1's and 0's and spun around and around thousands of times a minute? Well, it's either a computer hard-drive or a prayer wheel depending on how you look at it.
Bookmark this page. The title of this page contains OmMaNiPadMeHum. The address of this page contains OmMaNiPadMeHum. Both of those will be temporarily etched into your harddrive. From then on every cycle of your harddive is one rotation of the prayer wheel.
Or, perhaps you'd like a free copy of our "System Tray Chanter"? We are finishing this program. And it will be made available to you as soon as it is complete.
